Speaker - David Agro, an award winning architect based in Toronto and founding member and past President of the Jocotoco Conservation Foundation.
Talk Description - Join David J Agro for a brief overview of 30 years of conservation work in Ecuador. Starting with the scientific explorations of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia that discovered a number of new species of endangered birds, we will cover the efforts to protect those and other species through the formation of the Jocotoco Conservation Foundation. We will review the development of regional and ecosystem approaches to conservation of one of the most biodiverse countries in the world including strategies for addressing the challenges of climate change. There will be lots of pictures and entertaining stories of fantastic animals and plants and a brief visit to Jocotoco’s rewilding project on the Galapagos!
