migration trends compared

High Park and Cranberry MarshTop

Migrating numbers trends at the two sites mostly match closely for those species whose trends are significant at the 99% level of confidence. The exception is the Red-tailed Hawk which the sites both agree is changing significantly but in opposite directions! Perhaps the Red-tailed Hawk’s migration pattern has been changing over the years and now aligns at the two sites better than it did in the early 1990’s.

The Red-tailed Hawk comparison graph is reproduced here for convenience.

Adding in results for Iroquois shows some agreements and disagreements. At the moment we are not sure that these are real because the data from Iroquois are based on far fewer hours observing than the other two sites. Nevertheless, the trends are interesting and we will be tracking these results over the coming years.
