Christmas Bird Count
The 94th annual Toronto Christmas Bird Count will take place on Sunday December 16th, 2018.
As in previous years, the Count is organized into 26 sectors in the Toronto count circle, which constitutes a 24.2 km. radius circle in central Toronto. Each sector has a designated leader who is responsible for staffing the sector and reporting data. The Christmas Bird Count is an excellent opportunity for birders of varying experience to enjoy an organized day of winter birding. The day is traditionally followed, later in the afternoon, with a round-up where the bird observation results for the day are reported and recorded. A pot luck meal is served for everyone who participated. The round-up this year will begin at 4:30 pm. and will be hosted by our Conservation Officer, Ange Brooks. Designated sector leaders will be contacting participants directly, and will also share the roundup location to them. Anyone wishing to join the count and who has not been called by a leader, should contact Emily Rondel at .
